Nursery....pretty much complete!

Love the DREAM letters on the wall...thanks Auntie Pam! She got those for baby for Christmas and they really fit the colors and feel of the room.
Our huge and not so attractive but oh so comfortable chair! I'm sure baby and I are going to be spending a lot of quality time in that chair over the coming months!

Love the crib set and and the light, and I'm so happy with how the wall turned out, DH did such a great job!

This picture does a great job of showing how bright this room is, I love all the light that comes in there it makes it so cheery!

I don't think you can read the quote but it says "Every good and perfect gift comes from above...". It was a pita to put up, but I love it! And I know the picture frames are crooked, I have to adjust the ribbons!

Don't mind the dirty carpet...needs a good vacuuming, as Ella loves to roll around on it!

And that's it, so excited to have it complete...well except for the baby of course!

36 weeks...That's 9 months!

This is unreal, I can't believe I'm here already. I have 6 days left of work, just over 3 weeks until my due date, and the craziest thing...I drove to work with a car seat in my car this morning! lol Dh was nesting a little last night too. We have more places to put a baby in our house than I know what to do with. Poor Ella is just wondering around trying to keep up with all the craziness around the place, and I have to say I can't blame her!

What's going on? Feet? Crazy swollen, hilarious really, hands a little bit too. Still quite painful to be rolling over in bed, but nothing too bad. My high school stretch marks have decided to sprout some extenstions, and then last night my first PG related only stretch mark appreared...yuck! I guess I should be thankful that it happened after my Mat pictures were taken on Satruday. We had a lot of fun getting them done, I was very impressed with DH, and the photographer was fantastic. I'll talk more about here when my teasers are ready...she said Wednesday.

Had two baby showers (not for me) on Sunday, that was a lot of fun. But the weekend was really exhausting, I feel like I need a break from the weekend. I'm trying to use my evenings better, than just sitting on the couch that is! Got the rest of the shower stuff washed and put away last night. The only other thing I have to do wash wise is the diapers, but I want to wait until I'm home for the day so I can just do the 3/4 cycles one after the other.

Placing one more order for things from a website. And I think that will finish up my 'must have' lists for now. I"m getting a few AIO diapers in newborn sizes and some newborn size covers. Also a hotsling and an ergo carrier...holy crap this baby is expensive! lol

Here's this weeks pic...wonder how many more of these I'll have?

33 weeks...Mini Vacay over

I had a really nice extra long weekend. Got just enough baby 'stuff' that I feel if a baby came I wouldn't have to make a huge list for dh to go pick up at Walmart! lol Had quite a few nice naps (never enough), and realized that I'm so ready to start my mat leave. I came into work this morning to my boss making some drama, as usual, over a stupid meeting tonight (doesn't stress me in the least). I just really don't want to be here anymore, but 1 month left. I guess I shouldn't complain, in reality I only have 18 work days left, I know I can handle that.

I think I am starting to feel the effects of this whole deal though. I'm pretty sure I've got that spread in the pelvis that causes lovely pain whenever I roll over, get up or stand/walk...so nice. Dr. said I'm okay to take tylenol as needed, but to be honest it's more that I can do what I want more than the pain. I think long and hard before rolling over in bed, and stretches that used to feel good feel awful.

Enough complaining though, things are good. My Dr. appointment last night went great. BP is still good, measuring fine, babe's hrate is great, and I'm consistantly gaining about 1.5 lbs every two weeks now (I hit 30lbs last night! lol). Only one more week off and then I'll be weekly appointments until the end. Greg even came with me last night, which was nice, he's been working/playing hockey during most of my appointments so it was nice to have him there.

Had a nice Easter dinner with Greg's family, but really just relaxed for the past week. Can't complain about that. Oh...also, got our HUGE chair for the nursery, it's hilarious, it takes up 3/4 of the room, but so worth it. I could sleep there any day. Which I'm sure I'll be doing lots of.

29 Weeks, 3 days

Spring is almost here! So exciting! I'm loving the warmer weather, for many different reasons. The number one reason is that my winter jacket now makes me feel like an even bigger marshmallow than I normally do, and my spring one can't button any more...so it's an open spring jacket, regardless of the weather (come on warm weather!).

Lots of pics this week, so not a ton of news. Lots and lots of movement, sleeping pretty good, still through the night on some nights. Started our prenatal classes last week, have 5 more to go, so far so good. LOVED having last Friday off, made the whole week so much more tolerable and I got a ton of work done knowing I wouldn't be there on Friday. That's about it, maybe I'll update later in the week.

Enjoy the pics!
Belly pics, 29w3d

A special gift from a new Mommy friend of mine. Her advice to me was to enjoy this time 'alone' with the baby, because before you know it you'll have to share him/her with everyone else!

Even DH has started 'nesting', I went in the baby's room last night to find that he had taken the few little things that we have gotten for baby so far and hung them in the closet. So cute. Plus...love the closet organizer he put in for me.

One of my favorite things in the baby's room, the light fixture, so pretty.

Crib is in place, just put the bedding in to see how it would look, dh still has lots of stuff laying around in there. Next step...need some curtains!

27w3d

I'm feeling pretty scattered today, it's like time is flying by and I have no control over it. It's not that things are stressful, it's just all coming at me at once. The days that used to drag on are now going by so quickly that I can't keep track of what's going on.

We had a pretty busy weekend. Curling Friday night (we won! lol), got to hang out with our friends new baby. He was born at 33 weeks, and now at 8 weeks old weighs just 7lbs, so cute. Saturday I had to work for a bit, and then we had Greg's parents over for supper. Greg and his Dad put together the crib and one of the dressers, which was nice for them to do together. Sunday we had church in the morning, then friends over for brunch. In the afternoon we went and bought a mattress for the crib(at Sears) and a closet organizer system and light fixture at Home Depot. I can't wait for Greg to finish all the 'construction' stuff in the nursery so I can get going with the fun stuff!

I also had my WinRho shot on Friday, not really a big deal, but another thing checked off the list, which was great. I had to go to the hospital where I'll be delivering to get it done so while I was there I registered as a patient and confirmed that I will have a private room. My insurance covers up to a semi private and for only $15/night more I could reserve a private, so I was happy to do that.

Still feeling really good. Had a day that I was really uncomfortable last week, just weird pressure and stuff, but to be honest it was probably just something I ate. I felt a ton better the next day. Still enjoying our fitness class, still waiting for some better weather so I can get out walking.

That's it, here are the 27 week pics.

Nursery painting underway!

I didn't get a chance to take my pics this morning so that will have to be delayed, but for now, here are the pics from the weekend's project. Greg did such a great job!

Baby Shopping...another 'making it real' moment

Just made a couple of orders online that really do make things 'seem so real'. Very exited though!

Crib - Ikea GulliverDresser(that will act as changing table) - Ikea Aneboda, ordered two of these, not sure if they will go side by side to make a bigger storage surface or if one will go in the closet, we'll see once the room gets set up.Stroller - Bumble Ride Indie Seagrass . I never thought I would spend this much on a stroller, but after researching (a ton!) I realized that you get what you pay for. And in the end I would probably end up buying something else later once I realized my 'bargain' wasn't going to last very long. Finding a US based company that would ship to Canada for free was a fantastic bonus, so even after the ridiculous exchange rate was applied it was still $20 cheaper that any Canadian site that I found. Can't wait for this to arrive!

25 Weeks!

This is really getting crazy, 25 weeks? Seriously? I mean I know we are moving along, I'm finding myself getting frustrated when my body can't do things like it normally does. I jog to my car during a down pour...get there and am totally out of breath. At our fitness class just getting up and down off the floor makes me feel like I weigh 300lbs! But on the bright side, I'm getting beat up on the inside all day long! I can't help but smile when I'm in a meeting and the little one is rolling around in there. It's kind of like this little inside joke that just the two of us have. And Greg is getting a lot more attached too. He's been listening for the hb the last few days, no luck so far, but I'm sure it will happen soon.

We went paint shopping on Saturday. So excited to have that done. I also have the go ahead (he's the budget man) to order our furniture (Ikea, which we don't have here so we are getting it shipped) and...my most exciting order, our stroller. I've spend A LOT of hours researching, and thanks to some tips from my nesties have decided to go with the Bumbleride Indie, it's exactly what I want. Just trying to decide on colors, ruby or seagrass, leaning seagrass, but the ruby is really cute too! the exciting thing is that I found a website that ships to Canada for free! This is a big deal, no American sites do this, so it's great.

We also looked at chairs for the nursery this weekend. I had dreamed of this cute steam lined chair, but I gotta tell you, the big ugly lazy boys...so comfortable! And if I'm going to be spending a lot of time in this thing...which I'm sure I will, I think comfort has to come before looks. Haven't made a decision yet, still have some places to go look, hopefully I'll find something with a happy medium.

So tomorrow is my first appointment with the OB, I've been with my GP up until now, I"m sure I'll have an update on that sometime soon. that's it...here's the belly for this week!

24 Weeks

I guess this is the week they call 'viability week', and from what I've been reading it means that if baby JGM were to make a surprise entrance into the world now s/he would have a more than 50% chance at survival. That is pretty crazy to think about. Hopefully we won't ever have to test that out and everybody will just stay right where they are for quite a while longer.

Not a whole lot of baby news this week. The bump is really coming along and the frequency and intensity of the kicks is really starting to pick up. I had a great time last night lying in bed and watching the belly dance all over the place, that was pretty crazy. Greg still doesn't have a lot of patience for sitting around and waiting for kicks, not that I"m really surprised, but I would like him to start getting excited about it too.

Our bedding arrived on Friday. I really do love it, it's really pale/muted, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Now we just have to figure out the furniture situation and we will be off and running with the nursery. Hopefully we'll be able to get the paint picked up this weekend so that the room will be ready to go when we do get the furniture. I've been avoiding making any purchases because I would like that room to be ready to store the stuff. Our house isn't huge and I don't want stuff just lying around any where.

Here are this weeks pics..grow baby grow!

The weekend was a busy one as we went home to visit the folks and to celebrate Dad's big 6-0! We had a nice time, dinner and cake at my brothers after. I also got to spend the day on Saturday with my best friend and her little ones since her MIL was hosting a shower for her. Her 3 year old told me that we are having a girl and that her name should be 'banana baby', too cute. I just realized I should have taken some pics of the birthday boy, but instead all I got was pics of my adorable nephew! Can't take too many of those.

20 weeks! Half way!

Hard to believe, but we are half way done! Counting down instead of up now! And 5 months pg, totally unreal. I am so fortunate to be feeling really well right now. Sleeping is pretty good most of the time, I'm able to eat just about anything I want (just smaller amounts), and I've been in a good mood most of the time too.

I have been pretty lazy overall, not really exercising the way I want to, but I did just commit to a 6 week (2x/week) pre natal fitness class that I'm really excited about. It's at a friend's house that is only a couple minutes away, and since it will be all people I know I will not be able to skip out! I also want to get my butt to the gym a couple days a week to at least get on the elliptical or something but we'll have to see about that.

I'm excited to get going on the nursery as soon as the bedding gets here. I think I've decided to skip some of the expensive furniture I was looking at and go for some simple things from ikea instead. The reason being I know I want a good quality stroller since that will get a lot of use, and I'd rather budget for something like that that needs to be better quality than the furniture that I just 'like'.

That's about it for this week. Still waiting for the cute belly to show up...had enough with the 'muffin top' lol!

So much to catch up on!

I have been a terrible blogger, and seeing as this is acting as my pregnancy journal too I have a lot to catch up on! First thing, I actually missed my 17 week belly pic, don't think there is that much of a difference so should be okay. But here is pic for last week, 18 weeks!

Coming along, right? It's starting to feel a lot different, definitely baby and not bloat these days.

So what were we up to baby wise? We did have an appointment over the holidays, heart beat was 130 (last time was 140). Otherwise all was pretty normal, my blood pressure was still low, but I guess I'm just going to have to deal with that. And we have our big u/s coming up this Friday! Crazy how fast this time is flying by.

I also got some great hand me downs while I was home. My sil and my best friend both gave me a bag full of stuff and when I got back I went through my closet and reorganized, bagged up the 'pre pregnancy' stuff, and sorted everything out. I love having a clean organized closet, makes getting dressed a whole lot more fun!

Another big thing, which actually sent me into a bit of a tailspin the other night, was that we ordered our bedding. After looking in every place possible around the city on Saturday I came to the realization that I was going to have to either make my own crib bedding or buy something online. The only options I could find were Winnie the pooh, Jungle themes, teddy bears...and did I mention Winnie the pooh? Anyway I got online Saturday night and ordered this awesome bedding from 'allmodernbaby.com', and I love it!

The reason it through me off a little is because up until now I haven't really made any concrete purchases, besides clothing for me, and this kind of made things feel 'real', very strange. I had a hard time sleeping because my mind was just racing all night. I mean, half way? How did that happen? Also, all the costs associated, this is not a cheap venture, and I hate to see Greg get stressed about money, but I also want to buy things that I actually like.

There's lots more to catch up on, but this will have to do for now.

Happy New Year everyone!!
