37 Weeks, Full Term!

I know I keep saying how unbelievable this is, but it is so true. I only have 3 days of work left, and then I'm off for a whole year! That is really hard to grasp. I mean since I graduated in 2003 I've been working 49+ weeks out of the year and now nothing? So strange. Not that I'm complaining, I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to spend this first year with my baby full time, I know not everyone has that gift, but it's going to take some getting used to.

Still feeling pretty good, the pelvic pain is getting worse, but once I'm up and moving for the day it seems to get a lot better. I'm also getting pretty tired again, but thankfully it's interspersed with bursts of energy so I have been getting some things done. Including some more shopping! (I"m spending way too much money!)

I just got an order in the mail yesterday, an Ergo Carrier, Hotsling, and some cloth diapers.

The Ergo, is black with 'retro lining'. I also got the infant insert so we can use it right away.

The hotsling is 'Full Bloom', I'm excited to have this for the early days, it will be a great way to keep the baby with me if he/she is fussy but still have my hands free.

Finally, I added a few things to my CD stash, a couple of XS thirsties covers, since all I have are size small. 2 Bum Genius XS (So ridiculously cute!) and a size small fuzzi bunz just to try, although it seems pretty big, so I'm not sure how soon I'll get to use it. This is added to my prefolds (36 infant sized) and 4 KLO, as well as 4 other fitteds called Sugar Peas.

This is becoming a crazy long entry, so I should wrap it up! Here are this week's pics.

31 weeks, 2 months to go!

March 31 today, and another snow storm! This has been a super long winter and it's kind of making me wish I was putting my education degree to a bit better use. The schools in the board around where I work are on snow day number 16! That's crazy, although i would imagine if I was a high school teacher I'd be getting a little stressed about getting all the work done.

Had a pretty good week. Greg has been sick, and I've been having moments of feeling not so hot, but so far I haven't gotten as sick as him. He was away for a couple days on the weekend, so hopefully I won't catch it. I also had my parents over for a visit on the weekend. It was really nice to have them here and to get a chance to share some of the baby prep stuff with them. We went shopping and they bought our pack n play and I bought our car seat. I'm pretty happy with both purchases.
Both were on sale at Sears this week, so I thought it would be a good chance to pick them up.

Other than shopping, we went out to dinner one night, but just stayed pretty close to home the rest of the weekend. They will be back over when the baby arrives, but I know that our visits will never be the same again, so tried to soak up the quiet time with them.

We have our first prenatal class at the hospital where I'll be delivering tonight. We've had a few already but they were at a community health center near our place. Tonight is all about labor and delivery so it should be pretty interesting. I've also got a 32 week appointment with my OB tomorrow, and a dentist appointment on Thursday so it's going to be a busy week.

Overall, I'm starting to feel a little more tired again. I'm trying to get to bed early, and when I get to sleep I'm usually fine. The days I don't get sleep are pretty miserable. I find the long days at my desk pretty tough, and spend quite a bit of time day dreaming about going to bed again! My stomach has been a little testy too, I need to be careful not to eat too much at one time, or to eat anything too heavy. But in general I really can't complain.

Baby Shopping...another 'making it real' moment

Just made a couple of orders online that really do make things 'seem so real'. Very exited though!

Crib - Ikea GulliverDresser(that will act as changing table) - Ikea Aneboda, ordered two of these, not sure if they will go side by side to make a bigger storage surface or if one will go in the closet, we'll see once the room gets set up.Stroller - Bumble Ride Indie Seagrass . I never thought I would spend this much on a stroller, but after researching (a ton!) I realized that you get what you pay for. And in the end I would probably end up buying something else later once I realized my 'bargain' wasn't going to last very long. Finding a US based company that would ship to Canada for free was a fantastic bonus, so even after the ridiculous exchange rate was applied it was still $20 cheaper that any Canadian site that I found. Can't wait for this to arrive!

25 Weeks!

This is really getting crazy, 25 weeks? Seriously? I mean I know we are moving along, I'm finding myself getting frustrated when my body can't do things like it normally does. I jog to my car during a down pour...get there and am totally out of breath. At our fitness class just getting up and down off the floor makes me feel like I weigh 300lbs! But on the bright side, I'm getting beat up on the inside all day long! I can't help but smile when I'm in a meeting and the little one is rolling around in there. It's kind of like this little inside joke that just the two of us have. And Greg is getting a lot more attached too. He's been listening for the hb the last few days, no luck so far, but I'm sure it will happen soon.

We went paint shopping on Saturday. So excited to have that done. I also have the go ahead (he's the budget man) to order our furniture (Ikea, which we don't have here so we are getting it shipped) and...my most exciting order, our stroller. I've spend A LOT of hours researching, and thanks to some tips from my nesties have decided to go with the Bumbleride Indie, it's exactly what I want. Just trying to decide on colors, ruby or seagrass, leaning seagrass, but the ruby is really cute too! the exciting thing is that I found a website that ships to Canada for free! This is a big deal, no American sites do this, so it's great.

We also looked at chairs for the nursery this weekend. I had dreamed of this cute steam lined chair, but I gotta tell you, the big ugly lazy boys...so comfortable! And if I'm going to be spending a lot of time in this thing...which I'm sure I will, I think comfort has to come before looks. Haven't made a decision yet, still have some places to go look, hopefully I'll find something with a happy medium.

So tomorrow is my first appointment with the OB, I've been with my GP up until now, I"m sure I'll have an update on that sometime soon. that's it...here's the belly for this week!
